Geometric Paper Shapes
08Dec09
Two works have been inspiring me recently. Both are installation pieces made from suspended geometric paper shapes.
The first is ‘Paper Chandelier’ by Cynthia Li (above), created for a graphic design senior show.
I don’t know a lot about the second except the art direction was by Romain Lenancker and photography by Laurence Jeanson.
I have been looking at how I can visualise data sculpturally and these two pieces have given me the idea of using geometric paper shapes to represent information. Size, colour, number of sides etc can relate to a specific piece of data.
